The Highlands Ranch neighborhood is a southern suburb of Denver and located along E-470 spanning from Highway 85/Sante Fe to Quebec Street. Beginning as a planned community when the original ranch was sold to Mission Viejo Company, a master planned community company in 1978, it had originally been a potato farm and later a beef and dairy ranch.
Now, a large community with a wide variety of housing sizes, price ranges and styles, Highlands Ranch has a plethora of different neighborhood personalities in its vast portfolio of community options. With four Douglas County School District public high schools and a handful of large private school options housed within its borders, the focus is on family and kid recreation and activities. Families are often seen together on the miles of paved recreation trails that link the various neighborhoods and more than 25 parks together.
Shopping, dining, medical and recreation centers are easily reached as are freeways E-470 and I-25. Light rail access to Denver and soon to DIA, is in the neighboring City of Lone Tree. Regardless of budget or style of home desired, you can find it in Highlands Ranch.
